Hello its time to go back. Because of ever growing support from my community, especially Patreon support, I have decided to do little extra, if possible. That will be Patrol Rework in 2025 instead in 2026. To be fair I have zero idea if this will succeed. Anyway let's move on to dev diary
Complete Overhaul of Patrol Generation
Okey, so first of all will be introduction of Faction Fleet Points. They will be generated based on stats used like vanilla, how many fleets a market should spawn and fleet size multiplier.
Each market is going to generate certain amount of FP points, which later on you can spent on custom patrol fleet, that will guard said market. Tbh this is unfinished aspect of rework so far, but goal here is to allow you to govern your forces like a faction, not single colony. Allowing you to distribute forces, where they are needed.
Patrol Templates
This part by far most important is done. In new tab (Military) you will have access to Patrol Fleet Templates. They are going to serve as sort of variant file for ships. A basic template, that can be used to create patrol fleet.

As you can see, now you will be able to see patrol fleets spawning EXACTLY you want.
Templates are very versatile, as you can share them between each other (copy and then use create from copy). Not only that, but they are not tied to save. So once created, can be accessed on all saves.
if you happen to for example use template with mod, you have not enabled, template will just use ships it can grab, will be greyed out and will display list of ids for each mod missing.
Templates can only be used for creation when all mods that the template requires are enabled, and that your faction knows all of those ships. Same goes when you create such templates.

Faction Ambitions
Purely for Roleplay purpose, that one you can thank to Frostpunk 2. Once you will declare capital, you will choose one of ambitions to accomplish, as sort of "victory" condition. One of currently WIP is : True Successor of the Domain, where your condition for victory is restoration of all megastructures. (Basically playing through entire VoK)
There are planned few ones, but as I said, it's to showcase there is actual goal behind your faction, that you are not empty mess of colonies, but unified empire, towards one glorious purpose. At the end WE are aspiring empire while THEY are barbaric despots.
Expansion of Capital Buildings
With new major SoP patch, there are going to be introduced new capital buildings, reward for Prosperity Goal and Military. From thumbnail you can already tell, one of those will be upgraded version of pentagon- hexagon. Cause hexagons are bestagons.
This time this is short dev diary, next one will show much much more. I have decided to make it, because why not.
