Hexagon (Patrols and Faction Ambitions part 2)
Hexagon (Patrols and Faction Ambitions part 2) (02.11.2025)
Welcome back starfarer. This is continuation of previous dev diary, so if you did not read it, I highly recommend doing so.
Today's topic : Practical implementation of Patrol Overhaul
New tab : Overview
So as was said earlier. Fleet Points (FP) are sort of currency generated by markets under your control. That said currency can be be spent on either new fleets, or higher level of admiralty: new stat, that determines amount, as well as quality of your officers in patrol fleets.

Full customization
With this rework you will be able to design patrol fleets to your exact liking, down to last ship.

Patrols assigned to specific market
As well as have options with said patrols.

You can either delete, edit or relocate fleet
On top of that creator itself as well as editor will give you ability not only to choose templates that you have done previously.

But as well as creating random patrol fleets, and picking / removing ships as well manually, to fully tailor your patrols

Patrol Creator
Furthermore, you will be able to choose one of three fleet roles.
Recon : Similar to fast pickets. Designed to patrol system
Homeguard, their main task will be guarding world they are assigned to.
System Defence, those will guard entire star system and sometimes even patrol nearby hyperspace around star system.

Flexibility of your forces
One of things, that always bothered me, was for best star system to have that one bulwark world, extreme hot world, which can spawn fleet endlessly. With this update this is no longer requirement for good star system. You can allocate, as well as re-locate your existing fleets between markets! The only requirement, is that such market needs to have means to facilitate those fleets.

Relocate your forces
Once fleet is in transit, you cant stop it, nor interact with it, so choose carefully when, and where you want to re-locate your forces
You can check fleet status in Overview tab, to see what they are doing.

In transit
Of course you can always delete fleet, but regaining strength from that action takes time.

Say goodbye
As decommission progresses you will see on your eyes how fleet is slowly getting smaller and smaller, until all officers are re-located to other fleets or fired.

Layoffs are inevitable
Together with this rework I am introducing new capital building, specialized in FP generation and with unique ability: Hexagon. It is going to be second capital building added in new update. As now each goal will reward you with ability to build such things.

MR president they hit hexagon
Included with sudden food demand whenever colony crisis is about to hit the fan!
This Seats Of Power patch : 3.0 is already available for alpha testing, for those who can't wait on my discord (link on website). Only Patrol Fleet Overhaul is implemented so far, as there are still few things I wanna do. Especially Faction Ambitions, which is going to be topic of next dev diary, so it is waiting time for part 3 then.
Have a good day!
And psst, hey you, yea you. Thank you for your support, cause without it, I would not be able to cook so fast!
