Greetings, welcome to another dev diary, on menu : Vaults of Knowledge patch 3.5, and some of content that has been done already.

Overhaul of Progression

One of many changes coming in 3.5 update, is change towards colony progression, some of technologies have been revamped as well as some of industries.

Industries : Orbital Manufactorium, Policrystaliator Cascade Reprocessor and Fracking will be removed. I think, that they are just, that additional step in upgrading, that became unnecessary.

In place of fracking, there will be new industry : Volatile Harvester, basically Mining Megaplex but for Gas Giants

Some of technologies will grant you production bonuses, to compensate deletion of industries mentioned

On top of that upkeep of megastructures has been reduced, but cost of restoration raised. What's more, procedural generation of megastructures has been changed, to spawn within same constellation as Coronal Hypershunt, excluding systems with Neutron star.

Gradually growing demand

A lot of people wanted some other use for advanced commodities beside megastructures and item production. With this in mind I am introducing Growing demand mechanic. Once you start produce unique commodity( In that case it will be : Compound and Domain Grade Machinery), market will notice it.

With time, market's demand for those commodities will grow, sometimes outright replacing some part of demand for other commodities, to make them more appealing to market, new demand for new commodities, if met will grant unique bonuses for industry itself!

Quality of Life changes

With 3.5 patch, I wanted beside adding new content, to also enhance current one, adding some of Quality of Life features

Production History

Each time you produce something, it will be recorded now in Production History, a tab that you can easily access from production menu. There you will be able to see how much you were able to produce stuff each specific month. Like in vanilla you will as well receive monthly notification, if you managed to produce anything.

To some of existing industries, I have added custom AI core effects. I think this small change will bring great results to you all.

Special Projets 2.0 : Black Site Projects

With some new special projects in mind, idea grew back in my head. To overhaul bit special projects. From now on they are Black Site Projects, that will require completely new industry to unlock : Black Site, upgrade from Research Facility.

Once you will unlock any project, your R&D team will give you... proposal.

Shroud encounter full overhaul

That is right, Vok 3.5 will fully change entire unlocking of Shroud related stuff. Will require you to complete few special projects. As well as it will heavily expand on it. With new ways of containment, new items, and new unique weapons, superweapons.

But first, you need to explore what those things are. For this diary that is all about shroud. Rest you will need to uncover yourself.

Collab with What We Left Behind : Drugs 2.0

3.5 patch will also bring interesting collab between What We Left Behind mod and Ashes of the Domain. A new type of special projects, this time , it's time to cook
